Out-of-school care Zonnelicht
Out-of-school care Den Bosch
Zonnelicht offers out-of-school care (BSO) in Den Bosch for children between the ages of four and twelve. The BSO is all about relaxation and discovering in a playful way what you like and what you are good at. Every day, all kinds of activities are offered in the areas of creativity, sports & games, health, nature and culture. The activities we organise are all about having fun, challenging and developing yourself, but also about how you can care for others and what you can contribute to a fair and sustainable world. There is a close cooperation with the schools Vrije School de Driestroom and Kindcentrum Aan de Oosterplas whereby the pedagogical climate is attuned.
Age-oriented groups
Four-year-old children have different needs from, say, eight- or nine-year-old children. In the groups for younger children (from 4 years to 8 years) there is more attention for rest and relaxation. The BSO children have the opportunity to choose between free play in the classroom, doing an activity with the teacher or participating in Marketplace activities. In the older groups, children are given more responsibility and are allowed to set up their own activities and help determine and design the content of the afternoon. They are, among other things, occupied with their role in the world and how you can mean something to others and to the environment.
The Sustainable BSO
From the vision of the Sustainable BSO, an environment is created in which children are playfully introduced to the principles and skills of a sustainable future. Learning about sustainable systems, food skills, hidden impact and orientation towards yourself and the world.
“The BSO offers a wide range of short courses.”

Daily workshops & courses: the Marketplace
Through the Marketplace activities, creativity and ownership are stimulated. Children have a lot of input into which workshops will be held. This teaches them how to articulate their own needs and how to realise their ideas. Every day we organise several workshops or courses in the field of:
- Creativity & expression (e.g. drama, dance, art, music)
- Sports & Games
- Health (e.g. Cooking)
- Experiencing nature (e.g. working in the kitchen garden, petting zoo or going to the woods)
- Intercultural activities (e.g. learning about cultures & charities)
21st century skills
We live in times when change and uncertainty are the order of the day. Changes follow each other in quick succession and we are becoming a knowledge and information society. This makes it all the more important to know how to hold your own in this society. To be self-aware and to follow your own norms and values, while there is a lot of noise around you. At the Zonnelicht BSO we give children the tools to deal with the challenges of the future. They learn to take care of themselves and the environment, for now and the future. Our way of working is therefore aimed at developing the so-called 21st century skills:
- Self-esteem
- Independence
- Relaxation
- Attention
- Distinctiveness
- Balance in small and big thinking
- Autonomy
- Innovative thinking
- Critical thinking
- ICT literacy and media literacy
- Empathy
- Responsibility
- Reliability
- Cooperate
- Sustainability
- Meaningful relationships
- Communication
- Inspire
BSO Vergeetmenietje
Every day the younger children of group 1, 2 and 3 from Vrije School de Driestroom come to BSO Vergeetmenietje. Since they are out of school at 13:00, we offer BSO until the older children also come out of school at 14:30. This way you as a parent have a little more time or it is easier to pick up the child when an older child goes to the Vrije School de Driestroom.
